Summary:

Sana is a bright tenth-grade student who lives with her parents in one of the largest cities in the country. She starts every day by popping two pills of happiness into her mouth. The effect is instantaneous – she feels energized and ready for another day of school. Smart and industrious, she is one of the teachers' favorites. She enjoys learning and truly believes her life is perfect.

Until the happiness pills go out of stock. Shockwaves run throughout the country. Sana's family's pills are stolen, and there is nothing they can do about it. People turn from being pleasant and motivated to experiencing a range of unfamiliar negative emotions – sadness, fear, and anger being among them. As the crisis deepens, Sana tries her best to stay afloat as her world turns upside down.
