Up Until Now
Up Until Now
There are many ways that people take in life. Everybody has their own way to handle it, absorb it, and cope with it. Some agree with it, some question it, and some simply never know what to expect from it. In reality, a person’s life is what they see, what they feel, and what they are affected by. Beyond those things lies so much more, that they will never experience. They will never know what other people go through, or exactly what they feel. Their life is original to them, and each one of their experiences will add to their current life. But, despite these things, they all have one thing in common: the fact that everything in their lives has shaped them up until the present. For example, everyone’s thoughts vary, people’s impressions differ, and their outlook on life changes as they age. Each person and each experience is completely unique in different ways. Everyone has a story of their own, which molded them into who they are today. They have taken what they have learned, and applied it to various situations. This is how they have made it through life so far, and it is how they will make it through life in the years to come. This, in my view, is a prime example of true diversity.
The world is a vast network of kindness, hatred, understanding, and disagreement. One must learn to accept all of these components in order to fully understand their life. No matter what, things will happen that some simply cannot understand, although, during the duration of someone’s life, these situations are addressed, and the proper skills needed to handle them are acquired. These are some of the things that just make life harder to interpret. In my view, humans cannot entirely understand life unless they have seen it all. However, with each experience, we progress more and more towards that point. Think of when you first began to ride a bike. This was a revolutionary experience in my life and in many others’ lives I’m sure. It marked the point in my life when I overcame my fear, and tackled it to the ground. I found out what I was capable of. Before this, I learned to walk, and before that, I learned to crawl. Each step contributed to what I am now. The same skills that people learn when they experience something are passed on to the generations to come. This ensures that each and every person that endures these experiences will be able to take away valuable information to prepare them for times in the future.
One thing that people don’t always realize is that after an experience that was unpleasant, despite the sadness, they have learned that they must live with it and it better prepares them for the future. A lot of the mistakes that people make in the world are caused by failure to learn from the past ones. A few minutes to take a look at what went wrong can be very helpful. Learning from mistakes has been around since the dawn of time, and it, inevitably will be a part of life forever. It can be amazing to see just how much someone can learn throughout their lives and pass on to others as well.
It is very true that past experiences shape a person’s life, but they are not the only things that do. Other components such as interests, hobbies, friends, and family do as well. All of these assets are tightly bound together, each one affecting the other. Think of a time when you made a new friend. You may have also noticed that, because of this, your interests or hobbies may change as well. This is simply due to new people influencing parts of your life.
After seeing 15 years of experiences in my life (give or take a bit), I feel like I have learned a lot. I also feel like I have much more to learn in the future. I don’t quite know what to expect in the rest of my life, and the truth is, I probably never will. I will continue to grow and adapt to the world’s constant shifting and learn the necessary skills to make it. What I can count on however, is what I have been through, and how it has made me who I am today.
