i am number
For honors english, I was required to read the novel Night. It takes place during the holocaust and focuses on a young jewish boy. The story really made me think about the variety of individuals that were eliminated and how each of these individuals had a story. "i am number 9-1-1941" is a code that would have been given to a concentration camp prisoner, but also doubles in meaning as the date when Nazis passed a law requiring people of jewish belief to were the star of david on their clothing for identification purposes(i made the star out of barbed wire for the pic) So that was my inspiration...for my photo project. :)
(Also, I got to use the school studio and that was AMAZING!)
Thanks,
Z
