On
A man and me
from another time,
both reserved
and absconding,
find our place
in the crowd.
Our ivory feathers shed
as daring hands grab
and misplaced hips buck
with a mutual beat.
We become black and white
and swept around
in musical notes.
With the sustained note
I press my thumbs
to his cheekbones
as my wings blacken
and steal from his lips.
Two simple angels
on Earth;
a realm where
lust and greed
can still melt
into love.

This is one of my few attempts at ekphrastic poetry, and it's about my favorite genre of art after writing: music. This piece is mostly made up of my visualizations, from both the song and my personal experiences, in response to the music. I hope you all enjoy my take on this song and the images I incorporated! Ciao!
