Strings
Strings strings catch me if you can.
I fall fall, my arms you tangle my feet you snatch.
String strings cannot bind me up or bring me back,
Though as I go one thought does catch:
What awaits me below this spider’s net?
Strings strings they break and snap.
I fall fall into a trap.
The fate for me no one will see.
“The only trace of her is a trail of broken strings.”
Oh strings strings what will become of me?

This is a piece about the idea that a person does not always know what is best for himself. I wrote it because I felt like I was always rushing toward the wrong decisions and mindsets, and fighting against those that tried to hold me back. The strings represent my friends and family. Ultimately, the fate of the speaker is determined by the strings that she fought against so ardently in the beginning. Whether she is saved or not depends on their willingness to save her.
