Hidden Soul Color

When people first meet me, I appear gravestone gray—
stoic and serious,
logical and lifeless,
careful and calculating and
not under people’s noses.
But if people get to know me, I am another color—
fiery red,
like the feathers of a rising phoenix,
positive and inspiring,
illogical and irrational and charged with energy.
And yet, as most people barely glance at me, I am forever perceived
as
gloomy
gravestone
gray.
