The Freedom of Freedom
I can fly,
Free like a bird, an angel
In the infinite sky.
Wings wide opened,
Face to the sun,
body hugging the wind.
My imagination carries me,
My thoughts let me flow,
My soul gives me freedom.
I see the city, crowded,
Every human working,
Parents running after their children,
Teenagers running after danger.
Politicians running after wealth they get from the citizens.
Kids running after a man with candy,
A woman running after her husband.
A mother, sitting at her desk chair for hours, running after her daughter’s dreams.
A boy chasing after a cat,
and the cat chasing after the rat,
and the rat chasing the cheese.
The whole city looks like a chain,
A chain that makes them forget themselves, because they are tied to something else and there is no way out.
I wonder if they had wings, like me,
Would they ever be free?
