The leaf,
Like a bird,
Leaves the nest,
Leaves the tree,
It jumps from safety,
It falls to the ground,
Slowly,
Floating,
Falling,
Falling,
Falling,
It floats in the gentle breeze,
Gliding to and fro with the wind,
It stops,
Not a sound is made,
Not a head is turned,
Or an animal scared,
Because no one notices,
The flight of the leaf

This was a fun assignment. We were challenged to admire nature and then write about it. The catch was that the writing had to be done in our heads while we walked outdoors. When we got inside, we wrote down our thoughts. This is what I came up with while watching a leaf fall. Enjoy!

thanks dalya d! If you just go outside, describe something totally normal like a leaf falling, or wind whistling, something like that. then use some personification . it will turn out really awesome! thanks for the comment!!!!

I really like it. It's very original: I have never seen any poem or article about a leaf, and I have never read anything that makes something regular or uninteresting sound deep and insightful. Great job!:D

This is really cool - I've never thought about a leaf falling that much. It must be a big deal to the leaf, even if it isn't to us. =)
