Secrets
In a flicker of lights
steal away my bright life;
linger for a whisper
but stay beyond the night.
I'd take you to the bays,
the stars, the city craze;
so in the shine I'll see
your halo of sun-rays.
There is no time; this one
day love would be no fun;
I hurt so much inside,
so with you I will run.
But don't take this all wrong;
this is not your love song;
I don't like you, so I
won't be around for long.
My guilt overtakes me
like my philosophy;
this secret is just mine,
for his love I foresee.

It's been a hot minute since I wrote any poems, because I've been turning more attention to fiction. However, for now I decided to jot down another ekphrastic poem I've been meaning to write; this one is about "Secrets" by The Weeknd, as it has instrumentals that paint an interesting visual in my head, and I tried to follow it. For once, this poem is about someone I haven't written about before (kind of). It addresses one person while talking about another. So, I advise readers to listen to the song and come up with their own visuals. Have fun!
