A room without a book is like a body without a soul.

The cheery sunlight
Seeps through the dirty window,
Into my messy room,
Onto my unmade bed,
To show pale skinned and
Deep, dark eyed me.

The happy sounds of children playng
Flows through the cracks in the wall,
Through the thick air,
Across the area of my room,
Over my small, dark bed,
To me, all alone.

The smell of baking cakes
Wafts under the door
Of the dark pine wood,
Through the smell of a musty room,
Towark me, on top of my bed,
into my small ears.

I'm so alone,
For it is only me and my tears,
Forever rushing down my
Pale face onto my pillow
And silent sobs escape from me
As I think over and over,
'I'm so alone.'

*grins* I know, but I was being lazy when I wrote this. Usually, I put a lot of adjectives and use more words to describe what's happening in the poem. And EdytD? You just gave me a good idea!

Nice. If you wanted, you could play with personification - since you're alone, you could "be," so to speak, the furniture, and give them human characterisstics. Since the room seems to be small and musty, you can compare it to a jail. You can also describe the sunlight seeping by describing the floating dust in the air lit by a few rays of sunlight.
