For the Computer Geek
I will always remember that first day
My heart fluttering with nerves and excitement.
As I entered unfamiliar territory.
You stood at the door of 322
An out stretched hand ready to greet.
You were a pale Irishman full of freckles
With a ring of blazing red hair
You still had much youth left in life
A smile so big it seemed to stretch off your face.
You let us venture and explore on the Internet
With your Smart Board.
Tossing a tennis ball from one to another
Cracking jokes back and forth.
Rewarding us for a right answer
With a pound of the fist.
You taught me a song with the funniest twist.
Whenever I do something ridiculous
I can still hear it playing in my head.
“I’m so smart S.M.R.T.!”
