Grown Apart

I never could understand how a family could grow apart.
grow up.
grow big.
grow old.
but not apart.
Then here comes life:
football and basketball
track and volleyball
boyfriends and girlfriends
lovers and "just friends"
parties and booze
cars and shoes
college and scholarships
careers and internships
...here comes life
and i never could understand how a family could grow apart.
but now i can.
