Dawn
Dance to the dawn, for the morning is come;
Dance to the dawn and the new-risen sun,
Spin and sing on the frost-jeweled grass
While the night sky shatters like darkened glass.
Moments fall like silvered rain
Among the stalks of golden grain;
A flight of birds, their wings gem-bright,
Rise in the blue and pass from sight.
The day-paled moon drifts in the sky
Over a land where emerald forests lie;
Among the trees, bright figures leap,
And spring follows in a jewel-bright sweep.
The night sky glows with diamond light,
And mortals weep before these sights;
A single voice breaks through the dark,
Rising high, the stars its mark.
A midnight moon hangs overhead,
Collecting every tear that’s shed.
In the dark, this pool of tears
Holds the passage of the years.
See the passing of the days,
Beneath the sun’s first breaking rays,
And dance to the dawn, for the morning is come,
Dance to the dawn and the new-risen sun.
