Dark Waters
I drown in the waters.
Deep in the darkness where my troubles reside
Pushed down away from all hope,
Left to linger in times past.
Aggravated waters send waves to disturb,
A rhythmic reminder of all that was wrong.
So vulnerable and weak
The pounding continues.
Looking up at the rays of light
All vision remains blurred.
Just reaches away from breaking the surface,
Hope lies ahead once out of the darkness
Finally to emerge from now distant troubles
Taking in every breath of promising offers.
A drenching reminder of what came before,
New outlooks now found to help lead a fresh way
