You said that you could only
survive on a guitar
I hide my face in the
dimples of your back and said,
“What about me,” meekly.
But you didn’t hear,
you were already dreaming.
I waited to long.
I had a dream that night
that I was your guitar
and you would strum my
strings with consistency
singing your soft melody.
And when I woke up
I found the blue cotton sheets
empty.
I waited to long to stop you…
