Poisonwood
the first part
silence always the birds away from
tucks disaster
her only secret. her favorite place.
black tipped stilts
curled on the water

behind them the curtain of trees
is familiar.

This piece began as a cross out poem but has since evolved into a free verse piece inspired by my emotions at the time of my writing it. Poisonwood paints the vague picture of a eerie location. One where silence is the protector and trees provide a curtain of familiarity.
