I Dreamt

I dreamt I was a lion
Who knew not doubt, nor fear
Walking amongst the giants
Below a sky most clear
I dreamt I was a hero
Master of the worldly maze
Undaunted by life’s hedges
Showered in morning rays
I dreamt I was a breeze
Calm and bound to nothing
Exploring all in reach
Forever swift and soaring
I dreamt I was a shadow
In a bustling city crowd
Observing those who danced
In the busy and the loud
Which were wistful dreams
It seems I cannot tell
Perhaps they all are glimpses
Of what lies within my shell
