First you're there
Then you're gone
Nowhere to be found
Just when I think you're gone for good
You reappear
So suddenly I don't know what to think
And you bring someone with you
You say she's your wife
And that she's perfect for you
But I know the truth
She'll be gone within a year
And you'll do your magic act
Disappearing once again

The author's comments:
This is about how so many dads disappear, leaving their kids behind, and get a new life. Sometimes they come back but they always leave again, making their kids suffer so much more than they should.

I think it's really good, but moms do the same thing sometimes. My mom did

This poem is fabulous, Makenna! I love the way you described it as a magic act; very creative.
