Words
are just too stubborn
they choose when to come
and,
when to go.
They leave
without so much as a warning
deserting the blank pages
and leaving you
empty and speechless
with the want to speak,
but nothing to say
Words...
they have too much freedom
they choose
what they create
and what they don't
They don't care
if your paper is due tomorrow
because once they have left
you are alone
Words...
they have a mind of their own
there's no such thing
as writer's block
there are only word vacations
And
the substitutes they supply you with
are never as good
as when the words
are willing to work with you
And
when the words get back
from wherever they go
that's when you speak

Well, this poem was actually inspired by writer's block and how frustrating it is. This is meant to be sort of a more upbeat poem compared to my other work.

Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious.....And curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Wow, this reminds me of the short story i wrote about writer's block last year. Mine wasn't nearly as upbeat as this though, I was miserable that the sunny weather was making it impossible for words to come.
