New Kid
It’s hard being the new kid
In a town you just moved to
Especially when it comes to classmates
They never know what to do.

It’s best to start off strong
But if you struggle, that’s okay
If the bullies try to get to you
Just stand up and walk away.

There are new teachers for each class
 And new classrooms to find
The worst is to find a lunch table
 Hoping someone will be kind.

 Once you get to know
 The people who accept you
It becomes much easier to act
 Like yourself, not someone new.

Your friends are ones to count on
So find ones you can stand
Find ones you can talk to
The ones to lend a hand.

You see the girl across the room
And you want her to say “Hi”
So you build up all your courage
And try to not be shy.

 Now you have the confidence
To be yourself around your peers
No more hiding in the corner
You open up, you have no more fears.
