During my early morning stroll,
I discovered beside the way,
A small alcove behind a knoll
Which beckoned me to stop and stay.

The sparkling place gleamed with a light
From the golden rays of heaven
Which filled my heart with such delight
And my soul with admiration

The emerald grounds were steeped in blooms
Of flowr’ing rubies and sapphires,
The air sweetened from their perfumes
While birds sang in perfect choir.

What perfection exists on earth
That could match even paradise?
Such tranquility, peace, and mirth
Uncorrupted by worldly vice!

During my early morning stroll,
I discovered beside the way,
A small alcove behind a knoll
That I shall return to someday.
