A Shattered Petal
He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not.
He loves me not.
Not.
Never.
Plucked, torn, cast away.
Falling
Plummeting
Crashing
First comes anger.
Hot then cold.
Screams then tears.
I catch sight of my face in a mirror.
Monstrous.
Lit with fury and anguish.
Anguish
Now its anguish.
Now I watch my laceration.
My single cut.
Across my heart.
I watch it fester, I feel it sear.
And I am leaking.
It is seeping through my incision.
It.
My feelings.
My vehemence, my grief.
Now there’s calm.
A sweet sea of relief, a bandage to my heart.
My broken heart.
I love him, I love him not, I love him, I love him not.
Not.
Never.
