The Fugitive Johnny Lee
When he was arrested he was dressed in black.
He was running through the woods; they caught him in a haystack.
He yelled, “Hey boys, just leave me be.”
But the cops had been after him since ’93.
Back then he was a terrible man,
He walked around the world with a gun in his hand.
He popped pills and he would never lose,
He controlled the world around him with his cocaine blues.
Johnny’s been on the run since he shot him down,
An innocent boy from some country town.
The boy tried taking his hit for free,
But Johnny shot him down saying, “Don’t mess with me.”
That was when Johnny had to run,
He left his home but he took his gun.
He traveled the state as a wanted man,
He doesn’t do the right thing, he just does what he can.
But that was then and this is now,
They caught him running and they got him somehow.
The boys in blue were happy as can be,
They had caught the fugitive Johnny Lee.
