Ode to God
A song to all the good under God’s gracious skies
for beaut’ are the praises
for continued graces
that brighten the dawn of swell days,
and safely secures sound sleep at sundown.
Because God loves us we love, in ways:
He is the tune we sing,
the music played,
in the bell ore’ valleys ring,
and dance in the square so all can see.
For given is the land we live
and also the air as well as art.
Because God loves, is love, in love, there’s charity.
So here’s the chance to thank the breeze,
the smell of rain, and healing after pain.
In all of the Earth and the world ‘round,
there He is giving to us, in ways:
Jesus, He, the Father’s Son, on Calvary,
And the Third, the Paraclete, in the Upper Room.
Around the sound of found gifts are
the virtues and graces like presents under a christmas tree.
