The Test
The boy who sits next to me sniffs, sniffs, sniffs
And the girl on the other side shifts, shifts, shifts
The water bottle she is drinking
While she is thinking thinking
And the clock it goes tick, tick, tick
The girl in the front row writes, writes, writes
And the boy in the corner sighs, sighs, sighs
The students yawn
Been studying ‘til dawn
They’ve been studying for nights, nights, nights
Yet here I am, and I sit, sit, sit
I clutch my pencil in my fist, fist, fist
I don’t think a thing
I just let my words sing
But the clock, it goes, tick, tick, tick
