Your Battle
I always saw it there,
That twinkle in your eye,
Everyone else saw it too,
But it was your job to make it bright.
It took your power,
Your heart and your soul,
To produce what I saw inside you,
That happiness you hold.
It was the fight of your life,
The time-filled conversations,
That brought true life to you.
And I knew it at last;
Your as strong of a person as ever,
Sending a gleaming message,
That all the needy feel,
Teaching them if you made it they can too,
With simple words that brought out the real you.
And produced that permanent smile at last.
