When I rise, I walk through the park
I listen to people yell and I hear dogs brak

Along the streets I see people stare
And I think to myself that life just ain't fair.

The clothes on my back haven't changed in a week.
But it's a bed and some food that I really seek.

The shelters I been in ain't that bad.
But seeing so many folk like me makes sme sad.

Though I'm a kid with no bed or home,
Suprisingly enough, I'm not alone.

There are many like me with no place to go,
we'll wander around to freeze in the snow.

'Till the time comes when I drop dead,
I'll keep searching 'till I find a bed.

but now I need to go back to the park,
because that where I sleep when it gets dark.

The author's comments:
There are many homeless people, even children who are searching for just a bed to sleep in, but most of the time they can't find one. I wrote this to remind everyone of the hardships that people are faced with on a day to day basis and that life may never get better but as long as you have a bed, you have a place to clear your head.
