Dear God
Dear God
The bullets keep on shooting
And the men keep on dying.
The soldier’s wives, they keep on crying.
The rich keep on laughing,
As the hours go by,
100, 200 American boys die.
The mushroom clouds are growing,
Another bomb created,
And another poor soul had quietly faded.
Though we will never forget
The men on the field
With only their cross as their shield
These men who pray to God
And these men who cry at night,
Sleep with the enemy in their sight,
With only fear and pride,
In their hearts,
Only man could tear them apart.
I know it’s sad
And I can’t do much.
But I can hold his hand and wish him good luck.
And when he comes home
My eyes will cry
And with every last breath I’ll thank the sky.
