Midnight

Midnight, the darkest time
The witching hour
When you wake up screaming, clammy with a cold sweat
And you realize that reality is so much more frightening
People say that when the clock strikes midnight
The moon is floats behind a cloud
And the stars go out
Extinguished until the minute has passed
Everything is black
Midnight is the hour when things
Go bump in the night
And the monster under the bed
Wants to fight
And your nightmares
Reflect that fright
Ghosts and ghouls
Zombies and the evil vamps
Venomous spiders and poisonous snakes
Waiting to strike
And bite
Midnight, a time of fear and fright
When your greatest fears
Make themselves known
The next morning you forget it all
But the midnight fears
Are always there
They never leave you
Like guilt, fear is with you
For life
Until tonight, fearful one
Until Midnight

This is a little Halloween piece. I think it has a much harder impact on the scariest night of the year, but?
