Crystal Bottle

I slide down the staircase
Holding the wooden rail
For mental support
And make my ascent into
The colourful meadow
Of dreams
Each one a crystal bottle
Holding many syllables
Many defining moments
Each as breakable
As the bones in my pinky toe
Each as fragile as the dreamer
Themselves.
Each more delicate than the last
Fitting into a new set
Of circumstances
New passions and fears.
