I climb into the car, hoping the two-hour drive will feel short

One hour goes by, how much longer can this possibly be

This piece is written in a Korean poetic form called sijo. It typically includes a twist in the third line, so I wrote about an experience that came with a twist. Our school's volleyball team was playing 2 hours away for the state championship. I dreaded the long drive and got what I wished for: a shorter drive. But not in a good way.
