Enchantment
Enchantment
Inspired by the painting Enchanted Island
Mirrored reflections, glistening under the heathered azure,
the hills watch the birds fly parallel with the branches.
Turquoise waters surround the land and hills
as they provide for when they are thirsty.
Everything is still, everything is at peace.
Warm hills and cold water paint the canvas,
a graceful array of colors.
No one is seen. It is quiet, peaceful.
No mermaids, no humans, no nothing.
Only three white birds, flying away,
out of the cold icy canvas.
Heathered cotton candy skies shield
the warm hills and cold waters.
Warm colors protect the hills and land,
covering them in sheets of warmness.
Dark blue overlooks the horizon all alone,
behind the rock, or big shark.
Cold and ice everything left astray,
it’s all very forgiving, good on the mind.
A tree stunted in growth, wilts over on the patch of land,
left alone, struggling as its friend is falling.
Everything is frozen, a break in time.
