I spent six days
At the bottom of the ocean
I lived six long days of punishment
I survived six days without you

Will you still be there when I surface
Or have I lost you with my loss of breath
Will you love me when I'm drowning
Or will you make me find my way

Know that I can't breathe now
I need to breathe fresh air
You know I'm not perfect
You'll know it more tomorrow

I know I'm pulling you under
I don't want you to know my darkness
I need you to let go
I need to set you free
Though without you I will drown

I should have come up today
It's been a week and that's too long
Don't hope for me to surface
You'll only weigh me down

The inspiration for this was a song by Explosions in the Sky, actually just the title. They're both called Six Days at the Bottom of the Ocean. (there are no lyrics to the song so it's obviously not stolen. ;p)

Wonderful...! I especially enjoyed the last stanza (particularly the final two lines). It was beautiful!
