Memories
as children we played
As we got older, our personalities decayed.
Becoming robots for their use,
We betrayed our youth.
When I look back,
All I hear is your laugh.
I miss the days we laughed and played,
All of it before we buried you in your grave.

I'm not very good at poetry and this is my first attempt at a poem. This poem is about a friend I had until he passed in 2020. He meant a lot to me. When I say "as children we played, as we got older, our personalities decayed. Becoming robots for their use, we betrayed our youth." They pretty much go together, I'm saying our personalities died as we got older that goes with the one about robots, I'm saying we became robots to fit into society and it also symbolizes growing up too fast. When it says, "When I look back, All I hear is your laugh." I'm saying when I look back at the memories, I only hear his unforgettable laugh. I feel as if the last sentence is self-explanatory.
