Betrayal
All I remember is going for a walk
I was with my best friend who loves to talk
We were walking up the stairs
To go on the roof for some fresh air
We got to the top and I heard the door slam
The next thing I knew there was a gun in his hand
I started to back away and plead
But I soon realized he was too filled with greed
My foot hit the edge and I had nowhere to go
So I thought to myself “how far is the fall below?”
As quick as I could I jumped off the edge
To never give him the pleasure of pushing me off the ledge

I'm a freshman in high school and I wrote this for my ELA class and it's my favorite poem I've ever written.
