Merely a Dream

I've known you since I was a child when I’d fantasize

falling inside the deep depths of your blue eyes.

You are real despite those who call you a lie.

He’s my expectation; Some have misunderstood.

Intentions that seem odd are meant as good.

Awakened by the comfort of my weary cry

that kept me sane and avoided a goodbye.

Fallacies taunt that his existence died.

He’s here, though. Always present in my find

and abiding with me as we pass the dull times.

Is it all but only in our vast minds?

Two beings so in sync and aligned;

Hearts beat a singular rhythm combined.

Will it ever be something I can confine?

Let it be more than a mere dream.

Let it be true; A reality that's kind.

Ravishing lips part keenly with grins.

Shards of grass slice departing skin.

Reflections of blooming lakes of vanity

intertwine with blood-dripping violins.

Reaching out, but vanishing I am

not fully present but in between realms.

If only this were real & he was beside.

Embraced from behind, but still no reunite.

The room grim in dusk. A chill branded, burned.

It is so until, he returns. At dawn he’ll be gone.

The following night. He soothes me back.

What a warm hold. What a troubled fate.

To be with the one you love when you already know

it’s too late.

Let it be more than a mere dream.

Let it be faithful; A reality that’s mine.

As a younger child I had crush on an actor in an older movie I viewed a million-zillion times with my Nana. He inspired this poem. He's my high expectation and hope for the kind of love I want to have if i'm so fortunate to find it some day.
