Meidebenne
Meidebenne,
Love dark as night,
Your petals scatter through the garden,
As your beauty is reflected by pillars of moonlight.
You dance through the air,
With velvet heels,
And pale skin, so fair.
Meidebenne,
You fragile flower,
Your dress a dark, crimson, red,
I want to tell you the three words that stay unsaid.

This poem was largely inspired by the Meidebenne, also known as a Black Baccara. They're very dark, luscious roses that I chose to analyze through the lens of an admiring lover struggling to confess their love to something so beautiful.
