Loveless Summertime
Summertime is full of endless surprises
You being in love with him
While at the same time
Being in the back of his mind and his car
Surrounded by nothing but greenery
You help but can’t shake that little theory
“What if?”
Just then a whiff of him enters my nose
And my affection for him only grows
Looking out the window and back at him
All I’ve ever wanted is for him to ask me to swim
Inching ever so closer to his hypnotizing eyes and lips
Knowing what he does best is say lies through his endless scripts
Butterflies and confusion battling in my head and heart
Oh how he will never know how he
Stuck my heart with that lover´s dart

We did a poetry unit in class and this poem was inspired by one of the many times I fell for someone who did not reciprocate the same feelings I had for them. From there on out the fantasy of me and them together was broken.
