Father, I Bleed
Fresh hands clasped by your rough fingers
Altogether how loving is your face
Though I may be alone, you are the pillar of my strength
Held in your arms, I fear nothing
Entering your embrace, your broad chest and powerful arms have brought me up
Realizing your love for me is unconditional and endless
I could only hope to return it
Blessed I am to have you and to know you
Listening to your every word, you are my lifeline
Everything I owe to you, if only I could give some of it back to you
Empowered by the thought of you, through you I have learned to love and to live
Death could not separate me from Your love

When I was thinking of what to write about, I decided I wanted to write a poem about something with a connection to parents because it's almost Father's Day. I chose to write about my dad, but as I began writing, I realized I wasn't really thinking about my dad, but more so about God and my relationships/perspective of Him, so I ended up writing with the thought of trying to convey and communicate my emotions of Him in the poem.
