In Golden Sunsets of Seasons Past
In golden sunsets of seasons past,
We climbed trees and picked berries sweet,
But now our love cannot seem to last.
You promised forever, it was steadfast,
But now you're leaving, making my heart beat,
In golden sunsets of seasons past.
We picked wild berries in the golden sun,
Your smile as sweet as honey from the bee.
The autumn leaves are falling, the summer's gone.
Perhaps I thought our love would last,
But now it's gone, like a fleeting fleet,
In golden sunsets of seasons past.
I'm holding onto memories amassed,
Of the love we shared, pure and complete,
But now our love cannot seem to last.
Maybe if I let you go, this love will be recast,
And I'll find a love that's true and sweet,
In golden sunsets of seasons past,
But now our love cannot seem to last
