Living a Lie

I’m living a lie
I can’t help it
This is a trap I was born into
And I hate it
People expect me
To be happy with with my lot
For it’s so much more than most
Even though I’m rich and famous
I feel like I’m out of options
The paparazzi track me
And watch my every move
To me,
Privacy doesn’t exist
It’s like I have to
Fake my own death
Just to spend time by myself,
To be truly alone
I guess it’d be interesting
To read about my own death
In newspapers across the world

When I buy those expensive outfits
And think of how many meals
I could buy
For those starving in Africa
In stead of that one piece of clothing
And I feel sick with myself
I feel like a terrible person
But none of my so-called “friends”
Feel the same way
All they care about
Is who has the latest scandal
Or who wore it better
I think I’ll drown in the shallows

I’m surrounded by
Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors
By all they’re concerned with
Is my money and my looks
Whether my beauty is
As real as rose buds
Or as fake as a Hollywood set
I’m sick of being around
Shallow, cruel people
Who only care about your bank balance
And your outer shell
Not your magnificent mind
Or your beautiful soul
Rumor whispers
That people like that
Are one in a million
But I’ll search forever if I have to
Because I’m convinced
That I’ll find the someone
I’m looking for
And I won’t have to
Live a lie

I can't remember it clearly, but it went something like this:

"The past is the past, the future is the furture. But now, now is like a gift, which is why it is called present."

I changed my name but I'm the same person from the first comment. You're welcome! How do you find those ideas? My poems kinda suck... They arn't posted yet though so you can't see them....
