The Rose Bud
There once was a flower
That was stuck in her bud
She had no power
Her roots were in mud
There was a tall tree
He blocked all the light
The rose was not free
She had no might
The sun would bring radiance
The tall tree brought shadow
The rose lost her iridance
The tall tree would wallow
The tree loved the rose
So he fell
The rose then grows
And he was well
The rose finally bloomed
She was never again left entombed

The prompt for this poem was freedom. I related it to the relationships I've seen in my life, with my mother, my father, my grandparents, and my friends. There are so many relationships that continue in endless oppressive cycles that need to be broken.
