Dreams of Summer MAG
Last night I dreamed of summer
And swimsuits, and flip-flops, and ice cream;
Of scorching days spent out of doors
Turning me into a golden sun goddess;
And the moonlit nights lost in conversation.
Last night I dreamed of summer
And a camp called Swig that lives in my heart;
Where the ancient redwoods grow colossal and proud
And clouds never come into view;
Where friendships made last eternally;
And time seems to just stand still.
Last night I dreamed of summer
And the waves crashing rhythmically against the shore;
Of dancing down the beach as the sun peeks over the horizon;
And gathering as many seashells as I can carry;
Of bonfires, with good friends, that last all night
As we stargaze and listen to the spirit of the ocean;
Of the cool sea breeze that comes in with the tide
And whispers my name as it recedes.
Last night I dreamed of summer.
