Perspective
Trees view the world
through timeless eyes
our lives nothing more
than shooting stars
short-lived, fiery bursts
accelerating towards to unknown
rare, precious moments
flash before us
either cherished or forgotten
such a curse we bear;
to live as waning candles
snuffed out anytime
by Deaths merciless breath
leaving behind ringlets of smoke
drifting endlessly in the air
as should memories float
eternally in our hearts
So we must keep burning bright,
for how else will we light up the sky?
