The Heart of Darkness
I lie awake
 Yet I am cold
 Darkness looms
 Forever more
 I breathe my life
 Into your air
 Something stirs
 Abroad somewhere
 Feral sweat and blood
Put to sleep my soul for once
 I am home at last
 Through the trees
 And damp forest mud
 Lightning scurries through spirits across
 The river placid
 The savage beasts
 All of this
 I am to miss
 The boat arrives
 A living hell
 Someone call me
 Out of this abysmal well
