After sleeping
In his pinewood box for a while
His teeth stained
His flesh pealing
His eyes sewn shut
He coughed the dirt from his lungs
And went on his way;
No acknowledgment
for the girl
With the lantern

Actually, it's about a zombie.

And a girl who is so invisible and desperate to be noticed that she'll look to anybody for affection. Even a dead man

Nice! I think this one is my favorite - I love the graphic imagery, and your ending really made me pause and think. It seemed to me like "he" was a homeless man, and "she" was guiding him w/ her lantern (literally or metaphorically), but he doesn't give her any thought. Is that what you meant by the poem?

Great job!
