Put in Perspective
My eyes race around the room as I walk in
All eyes on me, analyzing my every move
Does my hair look bad today? Is it the clothes I'm wearing?
Its hard to focus when everyone is staring
I can feel eyes watching as I clear out my throat
They all judge as I let out a slight cough
Am I being too loud? Am I being annoying?
I ask to use the restroom in a frail shaky voice
I hear as they all whisper and laugh at me as I get up to leave
Is it my shoes? Or the socks I'm wearing?
As I turn around to face the crowd
They are all sitting silently with their heads down
Were they trying to hide the loud whispers, and the dirty looks?
Was it all in my head?
Maybe it was my anxiety, locking me in a choke hold
Unable to break from its impenetrable grip
