I hope no one
Discovers the reality
Of my numbers and journals.
I hope no one
Discovers that I am a slave
To my scale.
I am a slave to my bones.
I will starve a valley
Into my hipbones.
I will widen the gulf
Between my thighs.
My throat knows nothing but acid.
My lips touch nothing but cigarettes.
My stomach hungers for nothing
Except pride and love.
My shame lies in between my legs
And beneath my skin.
It crawls within me and eats its way out.
I have mastered the art of discipline,
But I will not be rewarded
Until I can disappear.
