The Day Had Come - Inspired by Christina’s World, by Andrew Wyeth (USA) 1948
As I heard the noise,
I got up from where I was laying.
As I heard the noise,
I knew something grim had happened.
As I heard the noise,
I thought about all the pleasant memories.
As I heard the noise
I wondered why it had to be me.
As I heard the noise,
I wished it would be over.
As I heard the noise,
I looked at the once peaceful home.
As I heard the noise,
I knew it would never be peaceful again.
When I heard him scream.
I knew it was all over.
