Life is but a masquerade
A mask everywhere you turn
Some masks are filled with beauty
While others are filled with hate
Life is but a play
Filled with talented actors
Some are outgoing
Some are smart
But they always act the part
Life is like Halloween
Everyone in their costumes
Being someone who they are not
Life is challenging
Hiding behind your masquerade mask
Or acting your part doesn’t make it easier
It truly makes it worse
Because doing those things hides the real you
The one that people want to see
